identification australian snake

Hi,
a friend is in vacation in Australia, he knows my love for snakes and tell me he see a lot of snakes, today sent this pic
should be a pseudosomething or notechis?
Seems that now he is in south australia.
this is the pic

and this is a 150% crop to see better the scales

From the stature, it looks most like a Pseudonaja (brown snake). However, it would help to have some more info, in particular the precise location where this was taken and an idea of the size of the snake.

snake was in rottnest island (western australia) and was about 1.5m.

That makes it Pseudonaja affinis exilis, an endemic subspecies o the dugite, which in turn is a common species of brown snake from southern WA and SW SA.
