Anthill or Children's

yensen Jan 06, 2007 05:16 PM

Hi everyone,
I may be able to purchase a Anthill python or a Children's python.. What do you think on either one and which one do you recommend. Also if you do have either of these pythons, please post pictures of the enclosures you have them in.

Thanks

The anthill will stay smaller and require slightly less space. But it will also probobly be much more expensive. I keep mine in drawers measuring 23x13 inches. shown in the bottom right rack. I use aspen and clay pot hides. Both species like it HOT.

Thanks, and by the way do eitheir species like climbing?

Both of my childreni love their climbing branches--using them often to bask or just hang out. Best of luck with your choice!

Thanks.

By the way, what size are those tubs (how many gallons)?

Sorry also how do you heat those?

I have found that anthills dont really climb well on branches but they like a high vantage point from a sturdy object like a large rock. This makes sense since they live on termite mounds that are often 10 feet tall.

I use flexwatt for almost all my snakes. The anthills temps range from 99 to 76. They usually hang out above 88.
