Aspen Bedding and Feeding

varanusaqua Jan 06, 2007 10:30 PM

Hi
I've had a selection of different types of boas and pythons pretty much my whole life. I've always used newspaper but now have decided to switch to aspen. Is their any precautins i need to take when feeding? Can aspen harm a snak when ingested?
thanks

I switched to aspen about a year ago and I love it. Never had any problems with feeding on it and it's a lot easier to clean up.

i too was curious about feeding on aspen bedding. My concern is that after my rats have been thawed in warm water..wont alot of bedding stick to them? or does everyone use pre-killed or live?

or if the chips are small enough do they just disolve? Thanks in advance

To thaw mine i just let em sit for an hour or two.... or however long it takes for them to thaw. If your not in a rush just take them out an hour or two before you plan to feed. I also feed with tongs.
