Egg survival without heat ?

balls4all Jan 07, 2007 02:55 AM

I have one concern with my future clutches. Its fairly common for us to lose power for a few hours due to power outages every winter. If were home I have it covered. How do you all handle this issue? Will eggs survive a drop in temp for a few hours? What can be done to insure temps during a power outage if no one is home ? Thanks!!!

Get a UPS (uninteruptable power supply). It's usually used for computer equipment.

Ive been using a standup freezer for an incubator for a few years now...Think about it this way, does your food go bad in the fridge during these outages?
