Shedding or shy?

howitser Jan 07, 2007 08:17 AM

Just bought (yesterday) 3 leos, 1 male 2 females. After a day of exploring their cage & being fairly friendly, the male only wants to stay in the moist hide, and is a little nippy when I've tried to check on him. All 3 are about the same size. Is he getting ready to shed, or he just taking longer than the females to warm up to his new home?

Thanks for any info!

Don't worry, he'll come around in a few days to a week. Just leave him alone untill he gets more familiar with the surroundings. After he looks comfortable in his new home, then you can start handling him for short periods of time. Keep in mind they are nocturnal and like to hide most of the day.

Thanks for the info, and also about the color/morph info. The females seem to be settled in already, so I was just wondering. I'll let them all be for a few days, but definitely hope to get them well accustomed to handling!
