What about the worms

ecrowell Jan 07, 2007 01:40 PM

I never fed my dragons mealworms even though they are approching 2 years. I have only feed the the soft white worms which I think are called wax worms. I don't know the name because I am in the military stationed in Germany and the name is obviously in german. I have read little about silk worms and butter worms, but don't know too much about them. I know worms have alot of fat in them so I was wondering which worms are the best to feed, and how often. Thanks.

I've heard that waxworms aren't the greatest because they're really high in fat. Most people say just to give them as a treat now and then. I like to feed my beardie silkworms and hear that they are really nutritious. My beardie is still just a juvenile so I feed her about three or four of them every couple of days (on top of her crickets and greens). I've also fed her superworms. Some people say that they are hard to digest but I haven't had any problems with them at all.
