chacoan swamp snakes

I got a few of these last year at the shop I work in, and they were awesome snakes. Every scale had a light black outline and the interior is turquoise blue. The belly was bright yellow. They had slightly larger eyes then most snakes also.

They eat fish and frogs and like to spend a lot of time in the water. They are also very docile and adapted to captivity quite well.

I would love to get some more of these for myself, but I can not find them anywhere. Has anyone heard of this snake before? Does anyone know where I can purchase some of them? Please let me know. Thank you.

Billy

I had got a pair about a year ago, juvi's. My female escaped the same night as one of my kings and amazingly disappeared. But my male is doing great still. I've been trying to find him a girly again, but no one seems to have seen them or heard of them. Mine pounds large pinkie mice like there is no tomorrow, though my female would never switch over from tree frogs. These are gorgeous snakes, my males about 10" long now and fat as mud! Their belly is such a vivid yellow in contrast to the "marbled" midnight green back it's amazing. Glad to see someone else has them out there. If you find anyone with them give me a yell so I can try to pick up another female.

Will Do. Who did you originally buy yours from? I have been calling all the reptile places I used to deal with and none of them even heard of this snake. I wish I knew rhe latin name, that might make things easier.

I got mine from Mark Lucas. I had the latin on them, but have forgotten/lost it somewhere in the process. I need to get some pics posted so that someone might be able to help out with the latin. Not a real common snake...that's why I love em!
