Weird, and perhaps gross question.

I have a pair that is locking up nightly. They seem to "enjoy each others company". About every couple of days I see a large amount of sperm amongst "watery" urates. My question is: where is the sperm coming from? Is it the male who is discharging some excess sperm when he releases the urates or is it the female getting rid of the male's deposit? My concern is that she is pushing out everything he's giving her. If that is the case will this have a bearing on whether or not she becomes gravid?
I know this is a strange question, but I figured I may as well ask. Thanks Scott

I haven't breed boas before (last night was the first hookup I noticed with my pair) but I've bred other snakes and sperm would be found after every copulation. Most of the time, that was how I knew that they copulated. One pair of milks unhooked when they saw me, and a lot oozed out of her. Some makes it in, and she laid eggs. Just let them keep copulating, I'm sure it will work out.

. . .without your help. Don't worry about it. Be happy you're seeing sperm all over the place. It is out of your hands now. Relax. : )

good luck too,

Thanks! You're right. The relaxing/patience is a tough thing sometimes...but I'm working on it.
