brooksi question

VicsVariables Jan 08, 2007 12:39 AM

Those lavendar sulfur brooksi are just gorgeous. Ok, so the males tend to get larger than the females, right? Do all of the brooksi morphs grow to about the same size? Do some morphs seem to have more health problems than others? The whitesides are very pretty, too.
Thanks for the info.

Males in florida kings (if they are healthy) always get bigger than the females.

I am not going to get into a flame war about the whitesides but I have experienced less than optional feeders and growth from this line. I am glad that people have finally outcrossed them as evidence by the huge amount of babies avaliable and the price drop from $500. to $100. each. What is strange is that all the outcrossed ones have a top stripe that looks more like the whitesided blackrats. Did anyone notice?? The appearance of the second generation of WS brooksi have a less appealing appearance. I think this also has someting to do with their price drop.

i think it's a matter of the line you get your snakes from or line you cross your snakes into... i have Sulphur Brooksi crossed into BHB Anery and for one the BHB line dulls orange of that line seems to be slow growers... I've got a pair from `04 that are rather small compared to my other `04's and I feed my snakes the same ... the out crossed sulphurs feed and they feed WELL! But growth is slower...

So while out crossing can strengthen a line it can also weaken it if crossed to the wrong animals...
