i was wondering if a 55 gallon tank is too big for my young blood?

also is their any way to get these snakes a bit more active, i have only seen my snake 3 times since i got it,lol.

my last question is about the head color of my snake since it has a very pale head will it stay like this? i have a pic of my blood as a hatchling and it was really brown and now it has gained some nice red how much more should i expect?

thanks again and thanks for the great feedback on my pic from the below post.

You just got one of the least active snakes on the face of the planet. The only thing that might beat them out is a sand boa. I routinely put mine on the couch and then forget about him, because he just sits there. The only way to make them more active is to poke them with a pencil eraser, which I wouldn't recommend for several reasons. So... enjoy!

I would say yes the cage is too big for the young guy, buy if he's doing good shouldn't be a problem.I've got yearlings in 10 gallon still and one almost 2 years in a 30 gallon tank.I have big malamine cages ready for them when they are the right length.
Also a smaller cage will be easier to keep humidity up and temps and the right spots. As for his head the whole snake might change color with age along with his head.I notice the red pinkish line that runs on the side of their heads intensify as they get older on some snakes, you never know, thats whats fun about these guys.
