This is my first try at posting multiple pics. on kingsnake so I hope it works.
Here she is when I first found her giving birth.
and here she is about 10 minutes later.
notice that when they are being born, they come out sideways 2-4 at a time (ouch!) and they are long (over 1/2 inch) and cigar shaped. They immediately eat up the egg casings and as fluids flow through their bodies, they get shorter (about 1/3 inch) and wider--within 10 minutes.
She had eactly 30 babies.
I've seen them give birth a number of times, but never had my camera ready before. Thought you might like to see it.
