Question about Abbie and Leos in general...

pspguy Aug 09, 2003 08:33 AM

OKay, Abbie has been in the main tank for about 2 days. She shed of course, and was eating when the mealies were put into her mouth. I have seen a normal stool and of course she shed, so I am going to say she is at least fairly healthy. The question is, since I put her in the tank she hasn't come out of hiding. She hasn't eaten that I know of, and we've left her alone... should I just wait until she gets hungry enough to get her own food??

its natural for leos to hide the majority of the day and alot at night too so there is really no problem with that. If this tank is big, she could be intimidated by the vast amount of space and is getting used to it....try putting some mealies in bowls in different areas of the tank (one near her fav. hiding place)...that may entice her to eat.

I think once she gets acclimated to her surroundings, she might start exploring and eventually sleeping out in the open. Just give her some time.
