Heating/ lighting for kings

bob456 Nov 29, 2004 03:28 PM

I'm building a cage out of melamine for an adult king or milk.
All sides melamine except front which will be glass. My question is should I make a hole in the top for heat/lighting,
do they reqiure uv lighting? Would the light stress them out?

If the light is on 24/7 th at would stres the snake out. Set the light on a timer, so it has 12 hours day and 12 hours night or similar. I don't know if kingsnakes need UVB light, most snakes don't require it. Just a regular household bulb should be fine for heating and lighting, if UVB is not required.
