Hi I'm a first time snake owner, with a 4month old corn. I've seen some pictures of MASSIVE 5 foot corns and I was just wondering If anyone knows how long it takes for a corn to get to full size, and or what the life expectancy of a captive corn is?

i've heard of corns breeding till they were 15 (corn snake manual) and they should be breeding size in about 3 so i would say 3 years till adult size although they keep growing throughout thier lives, just slower when they are older

I was at the pet store where I bought my corn and the guy said I could "powerfeed" to make him grow faster.

Have you ever heard of a snake that was overweight or suffered health problems due to over eating?

Power feeding, just feed on the reconmended schedule of every four or 5 days when they are juvi's ??? Are you feeding every 5 days? A corn will take a mouse that is 1 and 1/2 times the over all size of its body thickness. What is the size of your corn?

In some female snakes there can be a side affect, of fatty depsoits around thier "hips". I believe it is not detremiential to the health of the snake but can't be all that good eithier.. Keep track of the temps in your viv and keep fresh water. Husbandtry can also affect the growth of critters. A corn can live up to 20 years.
