my corn snake escaped from it's cage

raja11 Aug 18, 2005 02:51 PM

I just bought a corn snake lastnight, new tank for it and everything. He's only a foot long, and he managed to escape through the small gap in the glass overnight. I've looked everywhere I could possibly think of. Behind fridge, in closet, shoes, everywhere. Does anyone have a good teqnique on luring snakes? I went and bought some frozen pinkies for it, hoping it'll come back.. help please =(

Snakes will move along the sides and edges of walls when they are in the house. A good technique is to put a bit of flour on the edges of the rooms. When the snake moves, you will see the tracks along the wall. Try following the tracks, maybe it will lead to the snake. I've heard it's worked before, so I thought I'd suggest it. In the meantime, continue trying to look in warm places where the snake might hide. Make sure your cage is completely escape proof. Snakes are escape experts. I hope you find him. Best of luck.
