REd corn snake's health

canadian_Josh Apr 28, 2006 09:24 AM

Hi there,
I have a 3 year old corn snake. I just moved appox 3 weeks ago, and he came with me. WE were travelling for about 3 days. I realize that this my not have been pleasent for him, but he hasnt been the same since. He has been drinking less. Im not too concerned with this, becasue i know it is not a big deal. What i am concerned with is his tongue. I have just noticed that it has turned a dark red, almost black color.... from its normal bright red. Should I be concerned?

The best thing to do is take the snake to a qualified reptile vet. The stress of travel may have caused other health problems to occure or the snake may have been over heated and suffering from heat stroke. I haven't heard of any reason for a snake's tongue to change color but I deffinitely don't know everything there is about snake health. Vet check is my recommendation.
