My Black Rat monster girl

Sonya May 20, 2003 09:51 PM

This is Spider (as in Black Widow). She was given to me for being to unpredictable for educational demonstrations a freind does. She tagged me right after this picture but really did very well considering she is opaque. I took the pict to calculate her length. She shows a fair amount of white and red webbing with her black. Though a patterning shows a lot more in a flash photo than just looking at her.

This is a pathetic pict of her....I promise once she sheds I will endanger my face and get something close up.

Will you be breeding her? Where is she from? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I hope to breed her next year. She originally is a WC from Kansas. Went from a friend of a friend to me. She is a bit unpredictably nippy. Don't know if it is her temperament or being WC....though frankly she was a small baby when my friend got her. He does educational demos etc and was hoping she would calm down. Well, she didn't and then she went off food for him last year. So he offered her to me. She ate fine for me...it is a weird gift of mine. She has gained weight, is growing and, though still unpredictable does okay now that she is in a routine.
The male I am breeding her to is a bit younger, but good size. I got him second hand through Dwight Good. Though not of Dwight's incredible breeding he is nice and has a lovely calm outgoing temperament.

Will you e-mail me, culebra@ureach.com? I may be interested in swapping offspring in the future. Thanks in advance. Alan,

Hi Sonya,
Nice snake.
When I used to keep black rats they were pretty unpredictable. I could handle them every day for a week without problems and then out of the blue..blam..they would bite the hell out of me.
Then they would be just fine. Sometimes for a few days, sometimes for a few weeks and then, blam, do it again.
Kept me on my toes...lol
