Beardie Poop

bekka Aug 09, 2003 11:35 AM

Just read the thread below hoping it would answer my question. Kinda does and kinda doesn't in an indirect way ; ) Ok, our new little guy or gal (still not sure which) most often goes to the bathroom in the water pool/dish in the cage. I'm reading baths help the BD to poop, so now I'm assuming this may be our BD's natural instinct. He's eating crickets and/or wax worms, with his greens & now our BD goes daily, sometimes twice in one day. But almost always in his large water pool. I noticed his poop left behind floating in the water seems to have a beginning that is whitish attached to a normal looking sac-like thingey containing brownish excrement. Is this normal?????
By the way, our adopted BD has filled out, and is very perky. You have to fight with him to put him back in his cage. He's more alert now, & gets all excited, pacing and wiggling when you walk in to the room, expecting to be picked up. If you don't pick him up immediately and begin walking out of the room, he just pushes himself up on his front legs, face against the tank watching your back, statue style. If I peak into the room unseen he is still standing there, seemingly waiting for you to come back. I can't resist(and I think he knows it) LOL.
Huggs, Bekka

from what you posted sounds fine....

the "white" part: they poop much the same way a bird does
it all comes out at the same time....
the white is basiclay minerals and some of the elements of what would be "urine" if they had plumbing more like us.

hope that explains a bit...
