Hot glue in a frog tank

Hlynn1975 Aug 09, 2003 12:07 PM

I want to put some broms in my tank and I was thinking of attaching them to the corkbark backing with hotglue. Does anyone know any reason why I should not use hot glue in a frog tank? Anyone think that it would damage the brom?

Thanks,
Heather

Hi Heather,

The first time I tried mounting tillandsias in a terrarium I used hot glue. Within the first week all had fallen off because of the high humidity in the tank. Hot glue works fine when you are just making a display to sit in the house but doesn't work well when used in terrariums. If you do use it make sure to let it cool for a few seconds before attaching the plant or the glue will burn the plant. Good luck,

I second that.

Have heard that silicone may work.
