First crested clutch

poison_iv Jun 03, 2005 12:02 PM

I have 2 breeding pairs of cresties, and my one female just had her first clutch, which is also my first experience with a crested clutch.

The eggs look well, except for small brown spots, which I figure may be from the fact that they were buried in coconut husk... ?

how can I tell if they are fertile... also I've read a few different things about types of substrates, whether to bury the eggs or not, and how much moisture there should be....

I'd like as much input as possible on what has worked for any of you in the past... please help

I beleive you can tell if the eggs are fertile by candling the eggs and if you see veins. ALso, for incubation you only bury the eggs about half way. You will also need to be careful not to tip the eggs or rotate from the way they were orientated when originally laid.
