Feeding a 6 month old Bearded Dragon

ReganZ24 Jul 05, 2005 08:57 PM

Hi Everyone

Just bought a 6 month old bearded Dragon. I know how to care for him in everyway, accept have one question.
How many crickets/ waxworms do I feed him a day? I fed him 12 waxworms on Sunday, 25 crickets on Monday, and 25 again Tuesday. As well as veggies everyday. What is too much a day and what is too little.. I assume I feed him everyday.

Thanks

Glenn

I would eliminate the waxworms altogether except as an occaisonal treat. Feed insects once a day, as much as he can eat in 5-10 minutes, with salad offered everyday. Dust the crickets once every other day. Other foods that can be offered instead of crickets are roaches (any of the soft bodied roaches) silkworms or butterworms. Superworms, waxworms or mealworms can be offered as occaisonal treats.
