Getting a Beardie and need some info

I'm getting a bearded dragon and am trying to get all the info i can on bearded dragons like what is the best kind of sand, how much should i clean the sand, when do i have to worry about shedding and anything else people think i need to know

i also heard that you should have a heating pad under the sand, is this 100% needed and if so what kind is best? The other this that im worried about is there different kinds of vitanin supplement and if there is what kind is best to use

There are quite a few good websites out there for bearded dragon care sheets. Sand shouldn't be used at all with young dragons (under 10" head to tail) and many feel that sand shouldn't be used at all to avoid any impaction risks. Good substrates are papertowel, newspring, non stick shelf liner or plastic table cloth. Undertank heaters are not needed as dragons are not belly baskers. An overhead heat lamp is best with a good uvb bulb.
