Crickets left in Bearded Dragon Cage

ReganZ24 Jul 05, 2005 09:13 PM

The last two nights I have fed crickets some have escaped. Theres an area in the cage of rocks/branches were the dragon likes to sleep behind it. The crickets have been hiding under rocks etc, making it impossiable for me to get them out..
Is this a problem? Will the crickets stress the dragon ? I assume he will eventually eat all fo them

Thanks

Glenn

Uneaten crickets left in a bearded dragon over night can be a problem. The cricket can attack and injure your dragon while he sleeps. The best thing to do is feed your dragon either in a separate tank or use a ceramic bowl to place his crickets in. You can also leave greens in the tank for the crickets to eat, so this way, the crickets have something else to eat other than the dragon.
