Maryland frogs?

goalielocks Aug 09, 2003 01:08 PM

When it comes to amphibians I need some more experience identifying frogs. Starting last year a friend of mine started to notice these tiny little frogs I looked all over the internet and a few books trying to identify it. a few weeks later I was down by a nearby river and I saw what I thought was hundreds of grasshoppers and crickets move evry time I took a step. Upon closer inspection I realized they were frog and they were everywhere. I have just started to notice them again this year. They are all under five centimeters with there legs fully extended grey to light brown in coloration with four distinct brown markings on there backs. I was wondering if maybe they were just young toads or maybe some species of frog. Thanks.
