Identifying Crested Colours/Patterns?

hiya_jt Nov 24, 2005 10:33 PM

I'm fairly new to geckos in general. I've only had mine a year and within the last 2 months got two others. I'm wondering how to identify them... I hear people say, "Oh it's a fire dalmation... blah blah" and I don't know what mine are. Can someone look and identify them for me? And the approximate value of them? I will not be selling the at all, but I'm curious, since they are all in great health and I got them for a great price.

Jordan's tail fell off in September due to the stressful move, he is still eating healthy though. Jordan, male, 1 year 5 months

Jolie, female 1 year 6 months

Jenna, female 1 year 6 months

Crested geckos are tricky to identify as there seems to be some variation on what the same pattern is called. From what I can tell, based on the Rhac. book, is follows:

First picture: Dark chocolate Harliquin

Second: another dark chocolate but unable to tell if any pattern is present, mostly due to angle to shot. A side/top view is better than head on.

third: buckskin harliquinn

Fourth: this is a bit tricky, it can be a harliquinn flame, or just harliquin. It is also a dalmation.

I dont' call myself an expert in identifying crested geckos and right now I am not at home to double check my rhac book...if I think of it tonight, i will and update if my guess are wrong.

Hey thanks for the help! I really don't know how to identify them. I'll try and get some better pictures of them. My dark chocolate harlequin one also has a white spotted pattern on his sides. I'll try and get some profile pics.
