Crickets won't damage anything to my knowledge, but they can be rather noisy if males are loose. They will get into hard to reach places that are dark and it isn't always easy to get them. What you can dry, is use the mouse sticky traps. They are cheap and bugs get stuck on them as easily as mice. You can easily push them underneath the fridge, stove, furnace etc where crickets are likely to hide. They are also non toxic so if y our other pets get into them, it won't harm them (other than having a trap stuck on a paw, face etc). In the event your other pets get stuck on them, just use peanut butter or cooking oil to remove the trap from the animal.
A trick to get the crickets to the trap is to put a small piece of lettace in the center of the trap. The crickets will be attracted to fresh food and get stuck.
