WHIG-STANDARD (Kingston, Ontario) 07 February 06 School's iguana stolen
Thieves stole a two and-a-half foot iguana from a Picton high school over the weekend.
Prince Edward OPP said in a release that the iguana, named Liz, is Prince Edward Collegiate High's pet iguana.
Liz is green and is missing a toe on her front left foot.
Police believe the school was broken into sometime between Friday afternoon and yesterday morning.
Thieves broke several glass panes of the school's greenhouse to get to the reptile.
They also took a 12-inch heat lamp that was used specifically to keep Liz warm.
Evidence at the scene has been collected and police are investigating.
Police ask anyone with information about Liz's theft to call them or Crime Stoppers.
