two questions... please offer opinions

hey guys and gals.
I was wondering first of all, what kind of branches are safe to use in a leopard geckos terrarium. I know I need to boil anything I cut myself, but I was wondering what types of wood are really toxic to geckos/
next question. I have two new geckos. one looks normal in color and pattern, yellow/purple/orange/white/bumpy. the other one ismuch darker. mostly brownish body with bluish/purple pattern. he or she also has one well defined pinstripe going down the length of it's body. this stripe is the same as the body color. any idea what this is? are females maybe less vibrantly colored than males, if it's a female? I don't know what to make of it.
thanks for you're time
cheers

as far as i know, about the only wood that isn't good for reptiles is cedar or pine, or any other strong smelling wood. most hardwoods are fine as well, aspen, birch, maple, oak etc. grape vine is fine and that fancy wood treated for use in aquariums is fine as well.

as for what morphs you may have, no clue. the one with the stripe may be a morph itself, though what it is actually called, not really s ure. i suggest trying to get some good pictures of your leos and posting them, then it will be easier to see what sort of morph they could be, if any.

as for sexing, i don't think there is any difference in coloration between a male and female leopard gecko. however, they are easy to sex by checking for hemipenial bulges on the male [or lack of, in the case of female] on teh tail side of the vent. also, the male will have large pores along the undersides of his thighs, i think they are in a 'V' shape, but could be wrong.

a search on leopard gecko care sheets should bring up a ton of information about sexing and morph characteristics. below are a few that i found.

Awesome. thanks! I'll post pictures tomorrow morning, maybe someone can tell me why she looks so different. I can't find any pictures of geckos anywhere that look like her. Her pattern is normal, but the color is way not normal.

They turn darker when theyre stressed or cold. They probably are turning darker to absorb more heat. They turn lighter to reflect more heat.

I believe by the sounds of it you have an African fat tail gecko, they are very similar to the leopard gecko, and look exactly how you described it. they take the same kind of care as the leopard gecko... type it into google and search under the images, I'm sure you will see it's the same as yours

Cheers
