I have a vivarium setup for my Pacman frog as follows:

10 gal aquarium which is divided into 2 sections:

Section 1 is a plastic container approx W9" X L6.5" X H5" with peat moss as a substrate. This container is full of substrate, however there is a plastic sheet the size of the container which is situated approx. 1" below the surface. Basically the whole container is full of peat moss but the plastic layer prevents the frog from burrowing too deep. This is kept moist always. when I got him he was not eating so to keep him on the surface to eat, I did this.

Section 2 is an aluminum baking pan approx W9" X L13" X H4.5" which is filled with medium sized pebbles, water, a couple of fake plants and a fogger. I use spring water with a drop of aquarium de-chlorinator mixed in.

There is a 10" undertank heater underneath the side which has the water section. There is an overhead regular flourescent bulb for light and a screen top. With this setup and the fogger running constantly the humidity seems to remain at 70% and water is at 105 degrees F.

And now finally the questions....

1) If I leave 1/4 of the screen exposed the humidity goes up to 80% which is what I think I should be aiming for. What do you think?

2) With the heater being under the water side and the water tank being made of aluminum, should I be concerened about aluminum disolving into the water abnd harming the frog? Mind you that I will be changing the water once a week and probably changing the aluminum baking pans along with the water.

3) Is the water too hot? What water temp. should I be aiming for?

4) After a week he is now eating crickets (pheww. I thought he was gonna die). Are crickets best fed through tongs or just left in the tank?

5) Is the de-chlorinator a good idea?
