I have had a American Toad for a few months now and he seems to be doing great.He is quite vocal when handling him and I will also hear him occasionally chirping from his tank. I currently have him in a 5 gal tank with a cave and large pool. He eats approx. 5 large crickets per day. Since I brought him home he has almost doubled his size. He is 2 1/2 inches. Must be eating well...
So far the only info I can find is on wild toads and hardly anything on how to keep them as pets ( I purchased mine at a LPS)
Are there any specific requirements that he needs and what is the best way to set up his terrarium? Should I vary his diet or are crickets fine?
Any info would be appreciated.
