Looking for a Bufo Alvarius toad, (Vancouver BC Canada)

BufoAlvarius Feb 13, 2005 06:12 PM

Anyone know of any stores that would order this in???

I have never ordered a pet from another country, and I COULD afford this toad if I lived in America, but getting it through customs is what costs big $$$(100's of dollars)

Could I piggey back on pet stores order?, since they are shipping in animals anyway, they are paying alot to have them checked, thus I could end up paying more then I would in America, but still far less then I would had to if I shipped the toad here to Vancouver BC myself.

(I have alot of stuff for this toads living area, and I am tempted to get more,...... now I just need the toad itself )

hmmm... well, i dont think i'm going to be much help, i've never done anything like this before. BUT, have you talked to a local Petland (not petsmart, petco, or various others...)? particularly the one on the Surrey/Langley border? they order in a fairly wide viriety of herps, maybe they could help you find one. or at least find someone who could help you find one...anyways, their the mos knowledgeable people i have come across yet. Good luck!

PS, do you know of any small buisness type stores that have a good selesction of Reptiles? I've never been able to fine one, but i figure their must be one somewhere downtown!

Best place to find local petstores would be your yellow pages. Next place to inquire would be humane society and other animal rescues that take in small animals and reptiles. Many know who the local breeders are or at least who would be willing to take in unwanted reptiles (maybe you find one for yourself).
