Dart Frog Vivarium Construction

Vertabreaker666 Mar 26, 2006 01:44 AM

Does any of you frog lovers out there know where I can get some suitable moss for my Dart Frog vivariums? Something like Java or Pillow moss would be awesome.

Thanks,
John Doe

Well you can always get java moss at your local pet store, or you can go over to black jungle and order some plants off their site. They do have a great reputation and I find the prices reasonable (they also don't grow with fertilizers, which can harm your frog)

Black Jungle will not ship live moss to Canada. I already tried that route. Thanks anyways though.

You should be able to find a Canadian source of mosses, not sure about the Java moss but sphugmum moss is available and used often in vivariums. You can also check garden centers and the larger aquarium supply stores.

Java moss can be grown both in the water and out. Out of the water is it slow at growing, but it stays alive. Or so I've read in a couple different places.
