What are baby turtles called?

canadian_legend Oct 24, 2003 08:58 PM

Someone at work (vet clinic) said a friend of their's said that a baby turtle is called a chicken, however she doesn't believe it. Does anybody know what it is called, and could you (if possible) add a link to a site that show that, just as proof to show them.

Thanks everybody.

A baby turtle is simply called a baby turtle..Or hatchling turtle. Is it possible your friends turtle is a chicken turtle (dierochelys reticularia)?

thanks for the info, I guess that's why I couldn't find what a baby turtle was called (other than "baby turtle" on the internet, lol.
