Hi I'm putting in a pond next spring, size in not yet planned but it will be about 4' deep or deeper, with a dirt bottom (unless there is a CLEANER way to allow turtles to naturally hibernate safely).
Any ideas on species? I'm very open, though I suppose they need to be easily bought species.
I have access to RES's, but I'm not sure if they can handle the winters here. They do all along the coast in BC, but I am two hours inland, it gets to -25 in snaps each winter (air temp).
Also don't want snappers, as I have a pair of geese which will invariably become damaged and probably have goslings eaten.
