Phil, you have such beautiful healthy tegus! I'm trying to decide between a red tegu and a monitor....it's hard because they both have so much to offer.
I don't remember if you said if you were coming to Daytona? I know Jane said she was, and Lelya is as well...I would really love to meet everyone! I'm flying in from NYC.

Hi Nicole, I am flying in from Ohio, Jane gave me her cell no., that would be neat, I keep both monitors, and tegus; let me know what you are looking for maybe I can help; Thanks, Phil..
Hi again Phil!
I was just emailing Matthew to ask him the some questions about monitors. It seems alot of tegu owners have monitors!
I am looking for something on the small side (the tegus will have their own room and I won't have another room to give to anything else, just a cage) and something that is not aggressive but rather something friendly?? Also, which breeder do you use?,
I have never kept a monitor and the only person I know that has one has a nile (Nasty!!).
I'm not bringing my cell....I doubt it would work in florida anyway. I'll post something towards the end of the week and see if we can all hook up at the AM...maybe Saturday night?? I'll be at the expo both days too.
Thanks!

We'll be in Daytona early Friday thru Monday morning. The only time I can tell you exactly where I'll be is Saturday night. All of the friends that I meet there will be gathering at one of the Cabanas at the Adams Mark. The Cabanas are beach level toward the middle of the hotel, just look for the one with the picture of a Green Iguana in the window! LOL If I'm not there someone should surely be able to tell you where I am. Also, if you see anyone wearing a shirt that looks like this, they'd be able to get in touch with me almost immediately. We all carry cell phones or radios.
I keep monitors also and have had several species here, from Peachthroat to Crocs, currently keeping Savs, a Blackthroat, a Water, and a Nile. I boarded a pair of Black Roughnecks for about 8 weeks and totally fell in love with them. If I purchase anything in Daytona it will be a Rudi or two! They don't grow really large, are reluctant to bite, and are totally amusing to watch. If you can get a well established juvie I don't believe they are too difficult to keep healthy.
