Nighttemperature Python Regius

Thijs Nov 25, 2004 09:11 AM

Hi people!

I just build a terrarium according to the holy laws of ballpython-keeping. But the nighttemperature drops to 20 degrees celcius outside the cave to a nice and comfy 25 degrees inside the cave, because it is sitting on the heatmat. (well not directly but you get it)

The liturature says the nighttemp should be 25 degrees celsius. Is the temp in my terrarium too low, and should i fix it or can I go and get my snake now? This problem will only persist in the wintermonths, i live in Valencia so i wont need any heating at night for the other seasons.

I want to wait with getting a snake until my terrarium is perfect. I intend to get a young one and if possible (to find out the sexe) a female.

Thanks a lot!

20 degrees is too low, you will need to either find another heat source or add another matt
