FBH Herptile Conference - 2nd October, Drayton Manor UK

nils Sep 07, 2005 02:43 PM

Here's just a taster of what is to come as we have a fantastic line-up of speakers for this year's conference:

Anyone who has been reading the Reptile Care magazines recently would be well aware of all the hard work that has gone into the fascinating research carried out by Frances Baines, Rachel Hitch and Rob Lane into essential information on reptile lighting. Fran will be providing an overview of their work and findings and you can see some of the equipment at work and at close range.

Anyone who has marvelled at Darren Biggs amazing morphs will love his presentation. You won't want to miss the very latest on offer in the world of designer reptiles. You don't have to be a royal fan to love these new beauties!

Many here have supported Proteus Reptile Trust for years and we have the fascinating pictorial story of the Proteus relocation, having visited the site I guarantee you will be amazed by all that has been achieved by Neil and the crew.

Helen has spent many years studying the wonderful midwife toads in their adopted 'natural habitat' in sunny Bedfordshire and her talk promises to be a real treat for herpers and conservationists alike.

Jon Coote will be talking about the benefits of captive breeding in conservation and protection of endangered species and there will be a linked set of talks on the care of venomous reptiles and DWA licensing issues from Paul Rowley and Paul Ousworth.

Mark O'Shea needs no introduction!
Needless to say we are very pleased that Mark has agreed to recount stories of his old friend and colleague, in a tribute to the late John Foden.

Mark has also agreed to do the first UK signings of his latest book, hot off the press. Be amongst the first to own a copy of the Venomous Reptiles of the World.

There will of course be the usual update on legislation and the latest goings on within the hobby and trade, and much more!
