Cats v Royal Python

rocko5 Jan 07, 2006 12:47 AM

I have bought my first royal Python about six weeks ago. The shopkeeper garanteed that it was feeding on f/t in the shop. Usual problem does not want to eat. Stayed up at night a few ours in near dark and found that he is freaked out and goes back in his hide-out whenever one of our two cats walks past his tank.
Can cats be a problem ? (the cats are obviously active for most of the night)
ps Have checked temperature humidity is has got two hideouts

Thanks,
That's good to know so he will probably get used to them then.
In the mean time I have stocked up on some different types of rodents: Small hamster, small rat, and a Gerbil tail (to rub the mice with) hope that this will help.
I am going to put a towel over the tank at night just in case it is bothering him.
Do you happen to have any other tips?

Nah.
Just make sure the temps are correct and he has a hide. :D
Good luck.
