I have been housing all my beardies (3) separately for a quarentine period, but my one male refuses to be away from my one female! He is only 2 months, 8" so i know it's not for mating purposes, but my female is over 4 months and 11.5"! i am afraid to house them together, but he will rub his nose off trying to get to her. He refuses to eat or bask unless he's in the tank with her! I will put him in only when i am there to watch.
Feng, the female, is housed in a 45-55 gallon and all the temps are right, same with Kratos and Tak's 20 gallons. All three are eating well handfed and eating greens. Pooping regularly, etc.
This is very strange, but i don't know what to do. Feng will guard her food dish only when the other female, tak, is in sight, but will let Kratos eat all he wants. No head bobbing or arm waving like i expected! well, Tak waved at Feng once, but that was it. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is kratos looking for protection from the larger beardie? or a heat rock? (he will ride around on her) lol There's no way Kratos could be dominant, but he's showing the signs of being at least equal of Feng. It just bugs me that i don't know what's going on!
Thanks everyone!
