My female leo, a sub adult, has developed a small sore on the top of her head. Almost between her eyes! It is tiny really (about 2mm diam), but I am aware of the problems keepers can encounter from the smallest of wounds. I have trawled hundreds of pieces of info on line, but found the only real consensus of opinion to be the use of neosporin and/ or polysporin as a topical antibiotic following cleaning of the wound with an iodine solution. However i have contacted vets and specialists in reptiles and cannot source any of this topical antibiotic. I have the iodine-Povidone @ 10% w/v. Should I further dilute this with purified water before cleaning her wound? Does any1 have any / or know where i can get some of the antibiotic ointment? I'm probably panicing over nothing but better safe than sorry. Incidently, I am pretty sure the wound has been caused by a batch of fairly aggressive crickets i recently bought. I have caught a few 'sitting' at the site and nipping her. So I have decided to try the silkworms(my previous post)for a while as her new staple food. Theyre better for her 'n dont bite!!
