Feeding issues With kenyan

iv had my kenyan for about a year and a half now never had problems feeding until the last 4 months. i used to put toe hopper in the tank and hewould tak it very shortly now hell go weeks without eating. trieed fedding ouside of the tank hit or miss. Does anyone have and sugestions, is this common?

please help starting to get concerned was always a great eater

it is a year and a half old, and i actually think it might be female

Like Scott said, a adult male may go off feed for months (3-6 ). At 1.5 yrs old (if it is a "he" it could be considered an adult. Males usually reach sexual maturity at 1-2 yrs and weigh 70g .

Can you get a couple photos of the animal? Photos of the vent/tail would be ideal, we may beable to sex it via photo....

Definite male!

I wouldn't worry to much about him going off feed. I would still offer food every few weeks and eventually (approx 1-4 months) it start feeding again. The longest I have had a male go off feed is for 6.5 months and he does just great. Just make sure to feed plenty during the later summer, fall and winter months.

thanks ive been offering every 10 days or so. i know it difficult to tell but do it look like a male from the pic i posted

I feed mine about every 3-5 days they are still babies well not really close to juvies now i guess you could say. Males tend to be smaller then the females.
