Pansies are cool weather plants, and definitely like colder nights, 40-60 degrees, and will even live through mild freezes. Although they do grow in partial shade, an indoor vivarium won't have nearly enough light for them. It will also be too wet and humid for them, as well as too warm. Although they like relatively damp soil full of humus, it needs to be sharply drained and cool so they don't rot. That's why they are such a delightful early spring plant for outdoors, especially in temperate zones.
I haven't tried them in a vivarium, but have grown thousands of pansies and violas from seed in a cool greenhouse as bedding plants in the past, so do have some experience with them.
While it never hurts to try new things for yourself, you may be disappointed with most outdoor bedding plants that grow well in temperate climates. I stick with the smaller tropicals, of which there is a vast variety, for the frog vivariums.

Yeah good call. I have some beautiful purple and white ones outside that lived through some nasty freezes we've had recently that I didn't think was possible.
My tank is full of plants right now anyway. I'll post some pics once I get ahold of a decent camera. Still no frogs though.
