One of my adult male BCCs has not had a good shed the last three times. He is in the same caging and environmental conditions as my other boas and their sheds come off as one rolled donut, in one peice. He used to shed this way as well, now his sheds are broken bits and peices-Some still on his skin. This time I tried to time his shedding after he was opaque and gave him a good soak on Saturday, he shed in peices Sunday night. No external parasites that I can tell.

Any suggestions?

I would rub him and the rest of the collection down with olive oil to get rid of any external parisites that are not visible,they often hide between the scales. the olive oil is the best way to get rid of them use as much as you think is needed. I would check the humidity in that particular cage and get it to 70% different places in the room may cause different humidity,keep it at 70%. when he goes in to the opaqe I would give him the biggest dish of luke-warm water that I could he will soak as needed. if all of this does not work then perhaps a vet workup may be in order. hope this helps need more help e-mail mcexotics@gmail.com

unless there is a whole lot of air circulation, but your boa does need more humidity. This will resolve when you get your boaphile but in the meantime spray inside the cage a few times a day to achieve spikes of 60% in the cage. This is all you need.
