Breeding Leos

herphaven1 Jan 08, 2007 10:43 PM

Hi everyone,I was interested in breeding my female hypo-tang to any male I can find for a reasonable price.I was wondering if you guys could tell me what morphs blend well with the hypo-tangerine genes? Also what is a good breeding weight for her? 45 grams? 50? 60? Anyway thanks in advance.

It really depends on what morphs you would like to work with- keeping with the carrot tail, or albino, or strips. The fun aspect of breeding leopards is that you can come up with any combination you want to. If you get a stripe male for example you can expect some babies to be tangerine carrot tail and some to be stripe and perhaps some to be normals.
There are some nice inexpensive geckos available now that have great bloodlines for parents. You may wish to go that route.

Good luck in your decision.

Thanks,So how do I go about blending in the carrot tail or stripe gene?

Well, if one of the parents are carrot tail and one is stripped, genetics will do the mixing and matching for you
Did I understand your question or am I way off base.
