How did you determine the price of each size of your rats/mice?
What are your prices for rats..
What do you figure you pull in profit each month selling rodents
Do you ever have problems with the chewing the cages, if so how do you correct this, I have the same tubs and found 2-3 chewed already to the point a few got loose

If you dont want to answer these questions on an open forum I understand my EMAIL adddress is

How did you determine the price of each size of your rats/mice?
I pull all the price list on the net and try to find a balance

What are your prices for rats..
This is what one of my customers is paying to thier dealer now.
Pink .90
fuzy .95
small 1.00
med 1.85
large 3.25
jumbo 3.50

What do you figure you pull in profit each month selling rodents
Raising rats to small will cost .30 to .35 each so the smaller they are the more you will make.

Do you ever have problems with the chewing the cages, if so how do you correct this, I have the same tubs and found 2-3 chewed already to the point a few got loose
None so far, my tubs are pretty tight against the mesh.

Pet stores, I have 2 that need 2000 rats a week and 1000 mice plus feeding my own snakes.

havic Jan 11, 2007 06:39 PM

Cool and I just put a down payment on one of those.

I'm sure you also have invested wisely in some nice freezers and have a great supplier of feed and bedding. I to raise my own rodents and sell to some of the local breeders not to that scale I produce around 2k a month max but still go through around 800lbs of feed a month. Just keep in mind there will be some learning curb to get through while your tweeking your system and how things run. One of things that will determine your profit margin is production. You produce too many and the profit goes down the drain so I hope you find that balance quickly because one thing about rodents is if your having a slow month with sales they just keep right on breeding and piling up hince the comment about the freezers.

Good Luck now get cleaning
