SEC!!! Say it loud, say it proud! National Champs in all the important sports!
Thanks Lindsay. Now that's what I'm talkin' about!
Brad it's awfully hard not to agree after that whuppin.
Chris,
I'm not sure which season you were watching to make that statement. Yes, it is true that the Gators did suffer a self inflicted loss at Auburn, but every other team that matters also had at least 1 loss. Hell Auburn did not even score an offensive TD against the Gators, which is really irrelevant, but a true statement. Here's some facts for you that would prove to any non biased knowledgable individual that the Gators are in fact deserving:
1. They played the toughest regular season schedule in all of division 1A.
2.The were the champion of the toughest conference, the SEC.
3. After last nights blowout, of the 13 wins 10 were against teams that played in bowl games winning 9 of those games. No other team can claim that many victories against bowl teams let alone played that many bowl teams.
3. Other than Boise State, which plays a WAC (in every since of the word) schedule, no other team had a better record or more wins. Certainly no other team had more quality wins than the Gators this year.
4.Oh yeah, I beleive it was 64 out of 65 first place votes that went to the Gators. It seems that your view is a bit out of the main stream thought on the matter.
5. There are more things of course, but I will stop at this point.
While I hate the BCS garbage and the fact that this is the only level of play that doesn't have a playoff, this is what we are stuck w/ for now. While there were 3 other teams w/ only 1 loss, not one of them can make a better case for being THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Let's hope there is a playoff system in the not too distant future.

I was just rattling the cage and playing devil's advocate. FL has more claim on the title than anyone else and they showed up when they needed too, unlike OSU.
(For the record, I'm not anti-Florida and I could be accused of being anti-Big 10, so this isn't sour grapes).
3. Other than Boise State, which plays a WAC (in every since of the word) schedule, no other team had a better record or more wins. Certainly no other team had more quality wins than the Gators this year.
I just don't like the fact that Boise State is penalized by geography and history (I have no affiliation with the school BTW). Boise beat every team that took the field against them, something FL didn't do. Do I believe they could beat Florida? Not unless they are allowed to play them.
I think the BCS ranking system is an improvement over the old "vote for the best team and then insert Miami and Notre Dame even if they suck" system.
Its the bowl system that is a pile of cr$p.
Why did the number 4 team play the number 11 team?
Why did the number 6 team play the number 14 team?
Why did the number 7 team play the number 15 team?
and so on and so forth.
Ending up on top of this pile of cr$p does make you the National Champion.
There is nothing more that FL could have done,.......except maybe beat Auburn.
