Great clutch! Those are some awesome babies!! NOW for my stupid question lol.....I thought eggs were supposed to dimple before hatching....your eggs look nice and plump, without any ill affects to the babies. So its not neccisary for the eggs to dimple to hatch successfully? Just curious because most clutches ive seen are dimpled. I guess it just has to do with moisture content...but regardless....that is sweeeet!

snake eggs do dimple before they hatch, I think it has to do with the baby snake starting to absorb the egg yolk and this allows more space in the egg and causes the dimple effect. once the egg is hatched the dimpling is gone since the egg has been opened.

Congrats! Spiders are my favorite morph (hope to have one someday). Dumb question of the day (or at least the morning, may have more! LOL): Is the whole clutch spiders? Is that how this morph works when you breed two spider parents together? Just curious!

I would also be very interested in knowing the age/size of the mother! I assume this was a huge normal female bred to a male spider?

Congratulations on a great clutch!

Regards,
Bristen.

Yes, the mom was a 3000g. female and is 5 yrs old. She didnt cycle in 05 but she went late this year.. I couldnt believe she laid 13 eggs...I think there are 7 spiders there... Thanx 4 the replies guys...

very interesting.. I had a normal female that was over 3500g that laid a clutch of only 9 eggs (pastel male)... hopefully she'll drop a 13 egg clutch for me this year

Thanks,
Bristen.
