I know that all the books suggest how large a food item that you can feed a snake, but how small can you feed?

For instance, I have a good-sized eight month old corn. I also have a supply of extra small pinks left over from an order I got from Rodent Pro when the snake was a neonate. To use up the supply, I've been feeding three (3) of these XS pinks at each feeding. Is there anything wrong with that? The snake it plowing through these, so I was contemplating going to four in the next month or so.

no, nothing wrong with it. the pinkies arent really as "good" for them as bigger mice. the larger the mouse the better it is for them with calcium and everything. maybe keep them around as treats? thats what i'd do

Whats the next step up then? I have a whole bag of "large" pinkies that I need to use too.

What should I feed an 8 month old, and when do I progress up a level?

usually when a snake eats and you cant see a buldge in the stomach i usually move up in 2s or up to the next level. like pinky 2 pinkies, peach fuzzy, regular fuzzy, 2 fuzzies, hopper, 2 hoppers, weanling, etc. just until yo can see a lil bulge in the tummy. nothing too big now! b/c that can make him/her throw up. just slowly. so i'd try 1 large pinky and a small pinky and see if that leaves a lump. if not. try another small one.
