how long is she ?? about 10 inches ? maybe 5 months .. depends .
she/he is pretty and buy the way is that aspen shaving ?? if so i would suggest paper towels ...
Why paper towels? I have been told by a co-worker of mine who used to own a reptile petshop that the aspen bedding is the best....
I am curious to know why you suggest that. And thank you, I think its a girl. I am pretty sure of it now. I think I want to have it properly sexed before we get another one.
Anyway she's 16 inches long now. That pic of her was when she was a baby when i first got her. I need to take new pics.
Aspen is best for snakes. Bearded Dragons should have newspaper, washed and sifted play sand or paper towels in their enclosure to help prevent against impaction. When a dragon is eating, they tend to pick up some of whatever bedding is in their enclosure along with their meal. This means your dragon could accidently ingest some of the aspen, which can and has happened, causing impaction which can lead to paralysis and death. Your best bet would be to put down paper towels, and read up on some Bearded Dragon care sheets or books.

I have read these things, but she was talking from experience (as I am sure you are too) and I took that over the sheets. I have actually read quite a bit and I am in the process of changing his substrate. I am going to go with play sand or reptile carpet. I want to use sand for that natural look. I am also changing his basking spot from a piece of wood, to a rock.
That sounds great. I would definately go with sand over the reptile carpet, just because your dragons little toes can get caught in it and cause them to come off. I am glad to hear about all of your research you have been doing! Keep it up, there are always new things to learn.
