What would be the appropriate dosage of panacure to administer an apporoximately 4 foot corn? Thanks in advance.

Length does not matter. You need to weigh your snake to be able to dose it correctly.

Although your snake might be around 4 ft. long, the proper dosages are administered by the animals weight. It is not very adviseable to use this and/or other treatments on a "hit-or-miss" trial in hopes that something MIGHT work. Fenbendazole(Panacur) is used in the treatment of worms(nematodes),Strongyles, and Pentastomids......How do you know if your snake has worms anyway?. ........In any case, the proper dosage is 50-100 mg/per kg(1,000 grms.) repeated in 14 days........ I would advise you to consult a worthy reptile vet so he can perform a "fecal floatation" to diagnose what treatment the snake needs. Also,if you are not very careful with the dosage, you could easily kill your snake.......good luck,.............Doug

For what it worth, I just took my five year old male to the vets for pinworms. The snake is about 4' long and about 480 grams (I think. Does that sound high? It may have been 380. Whatever it is he weighs, the vet said that it was text-book perfect for his age, I just don't recall what it was, )

Anyway, the dosage for this snake is .6cc, once a week, for two weeks. Then I bring in a poop for a second float, two weeks after the last dose. However, I would not reccommend self-medicating. I would suggest taking it in to see a vet.
